Dean Baker, Principal, has an extensive background in project management, team building, engineering, and manufacturing. He is highly skilled at organizing multi-company, multi-divisional, and multi-departmental projects to improve a company's productivity and speed of implementation.
He began his career at General Motors in engineering, maintenance and production, specializing in project execution and control, and plant operations. He held positions as production manager, assistant plant manager, and was assigned to GM Headquarters as Chief Manufacturing Engineer Body-in-White for the Metal Fabricating Division to lead the division's plant modernization projects in the U.S. and Canada. He led the design, planning and implementation of over $2 billion in modernization efforts with suppliers from five countries, catapulting General Motors from last place to first place in stamping plant productivity. Subsequent to GM and before joining Fulcrum Edge, Dean founded his own company, Team Implementers, LLC, a project and manufacturing operations consulting company.
Dean holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from General Motors Institute (Kettering University), a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP)® by the Project Management Institute, an international certification recognized in over 125 countries. He is an adjunct faculty member of DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management and is the author of Multi-Company Project Management: Maximizing Business Results through Strategic Collaboration.
