David Kauppila, Principal, has extensive experience in engineering, manufacturing, process design, and labor relations. He is experienced in product program development, lean manufacturing, profit & loss management, and leading businesses to success. His special skills are well-focused for companies seeking improvement within a plant, in their processes, and in operations management.
Prior to joining Fulcrum Edge, Dave was the Global Manufacturing Engineering Director for Delphi Automotive Corporation’s Thermal Systems Division, managing a team of over 400 global manufacturing engineers in eleven plants and five technical centers. He also held the position of Plant Manager at Delphi’s Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility and Divisional Labor Relations Director. Prior to Delphi becoming independent from General Motors Corporation, Dave led the development of the automotive assembly portion of Saturn Corporation’s Spring Hill Manufacturing Complex. He also held a leadership role with Oldsmobile Manufacturing.
Dave earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) and an MBA from Michigan State University. He is involved in Habitat for Humanity and was previously on the Boards of Directors for the United Way and Chamber of Commerce in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
